My Name is Modi Scopus John. Am a refugee in Uganda from South Sudan based in Morobi Refugee settlement Camp. I first heard about AISMAC in 2020 that they help people go back to school. I had had this desire for very long. When their community engagement staff came to Morobi I met them and expressed my desire to pursue a Bachelors Degree.
I have been a leader in many places including the refugee settlement camp therefore i wanted to enhance my leadership skills but also serve in higher positions. I was made an AISMAC Programs coordinator in Morobi Obongi District to coordinate their activities in the camp. I linked them to another camp in Parabek Lamwo where they established another centre.
Through their support, I graduated With a Bachelors of Arts in Public Administration and Management(BPAM) in 2023. Today am an empowered leader. I still coordinate our people to join AISMAC programs in the Camp.
My plan is to go back to South Sudan and make an impact in my country. I thank God for the leadership and staff of AISMAC foundation.
